Small Plane Crashes Into A.C. Bay
Sea Tow A.C. On Hand For Salvage

A Piper Cadet landing at Atlantic City's Bader Field encountered an unexpected tail wind propelling it toward a wire fence and into a section of A.C.'s back bay area called the Beach Thoroughfare.

Fifty yards off shore and in ten feet of water, the three-man crew were soon rescued by A.C.F.D. and the U.S. Coast Guard. Sea Tow A. C. also responded to the scene.

After an investigation by the FAA and the New Jersey Safety Transportation Board, a 24-hour delay, Sea Tow A.C.'s crew were able to tow the plane to the edge of the bank. The plane, weighing 1,500 pounds was then secured to a crane and hauled out of the water.

The pilot and his two passengers were treated for minor injuries and released.
